Special public meeting introduction

This is the first in a series of videos from our special public meeting on 23 October 2024. where we asked a series questions to the prospective developer about their the plans for the former Barn Hotel

The meeting was attended by:

  • Chad Neaves, Development Director of Chase New Homes
  • over 130 residents of Ruislip and Ruislip Manor
  • the Uxbridge & South Ruislip MP Danny Beales (Ruislip Manor’s MP)
  • Ruislip ward councillors Cllr Riley, Cllr Smallwood and Cllr Corthorne

Ruislip Manor’s ward councillors did not attend, and instead provided this statement:

“Unfortunately, due to the short notice given to arrange the 23rd October online meeting with the Barn developer, neither of us are able to be present due to existing diary commitments.

A number of residents have already exchanged emails with us or we have met you on your doorstep about this application. We also met the developer, Chase New Homes during the summer and have had further communications since then.  We have also had email exchanges with Opulens Asset Management, the current operator at The Barn.

We all acknowledge that a development of the site will happen and we will be submitting our own response to the planners highlighting in particular, the concerns raised with us, such as the overall size, proposed footprints and overlooking, the traffic implications at the mini roundabout and the impact on local Doctors/Dentists services and utilities.

When the construction work does begin, we will also be asking that all construction vehicles do not use Eversley Crescent / Garden Close or the surrounding roads and that the site entrance/exit point is solely at the West End Rd roundabout.”
