Written answer
Given the increase in traffic and specifically the concerns about the safety of the access road joining the roundabout on West End Road, how will the developer ensure that the completed development feeds vehicle, cycle and pedestrian traffic onto West End Road with safe and convenient access for new residents and existing traffic?
The alignment of the internal road at the Junction with West End Road roundabout has been adjusted to improve the vehicle tracking which should in turn improve the safety of vehicle movements.
Our proposals introduce a pedestrian footpath that will connect West End Road to the internal network
The proposals seek in all manner to improve pedestrian and cycle safety and connectively by providing enhanced routes in to the site. Further, the anticipated vehicle movements associated with the development have been assessed by our specialist highway consultant to have only a ‘very modest impact’ on the local highway network in terms of the small number of increased vehicles trips from the former hotel use.
