With 72 dwellings and only 26 parking spaces, how does the developer plan to ensure that the development does not contribute to increased on-street parking in the surrounding residential areas?
The Planning policy from the London Plan and Hillingdon Local Plan is generally to restrict car parking in line with accessibility to existing and future public transport in favour of promoting more sustainable transport options.
Whilst Developers are not able to apply restrictions to the public highways that are referenced in the question, the quantum of parking provided is deemed to be suitable given the Transport links that are easily accessible from this site which will reduce the demand for car use.
Further, we will be required to enter into a legal agreement which will prevent all future occupiers from being able to apply for residential parking permits. Therefore, residents will not be able to park in any surrounding roads which are subject to parking restrictions (CPZ’s).
Refer to the Planning Report for more detail.
