Warrender Primary School’s Free Screening for Young People

Warrender School is hosting a free screening day on Sunday, June 14th. for Cardiac Risk in Young People 14 – 35 years old. This will be run by the charity CRY. Every week in the UK at least twelve young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. The chariry’s vision is “Preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening, research and supporting affected families.” A supporter of this charity is a former parent of a pupil from the school who lost his son to a cardiac arrest and a condition that was undetected.

A simple way to diagnose most cardiac abnormalities is by having an ECG (electrocardiogram) test. For extra clarity an Echocardiogram can also be done. This will happen on the day free of charge! If you wish to book an appointment, please complete the following steps below. Please note if the individual being screened is 16 years or older self-consent will be required.

It is to be hoped that residents will take up this generous offer made possible by Warrender School. Once again it shows how all our schools, not only provide excellent education for their pupils, they also reach out to be part of engaging with their local communities. As residents we are very fortunate.
