Have you been affected by E7 buses not serving Ruislip?

We would like your help in investigating the E7 bus service between Ruislip and Ealing.

  • Have you tried to take an E7 bus from Ruislip, only to find that it didn’t turn up?
  • Have you been on an E7 towards Ruislip, only to have to get off before Ruislip and wait for another bus?
  • Have you already complained to TfL about the E7 bus?

If so, please let us know below!

The possible problem

We have seen people complaining on social media about the E7 buses unexpectedly stopping and dropping off passengers outside the dinosaur golf place in West End Road, so the drivers can go up to the Polish War memorial roundabout and return back towards Ealing.

The passengers left at the bus stop have the option to wait for another bus or start to walk towards Ruislip Gardens with difficulties crossing the road at the roundabout there are no pedestrian crossings.

The consequences of these repeated curtailments of the route that should end at Ruislip Bus Station means that passengers in South Ruislip, Ruislip Gardens and Ruislip are impacted because busses thst they expect to catch are not arriving.

We’ll collect together as many replies as we can to try and build a picture of local residents’ experiences with the E7 bus.  Daniel will keep you updated with how we get on.  If you have previously complained to TfL about the service, please forward a copy of their response, including the reference number that they assigned to your complaint.

What have we done so far?

We asked Transport for London what might be happening with the E7 buses, why they might terminate early without serving Ruislip, and how often it happened.  The reply said:

We’re sorry for the delays that you’ve experienced when travelling on this route, and for the inconvenience it’s caused you. Buses serving Northolt are subject to delays due to traffic congestion resulting from HS2 construction works, which I understand are scheduled for completion in 2033.

If services on a route are delayed significantly the operator will sometimes make the decision to terminate a service early to prevent further delays along the rest of the route, which is known as a curtailment. The bus can then run to other parts of the route where it’s needed. I realise that it’s frustrating when a bus is curtailed, however it is sometimes necessary to take this course of action to maintain our service levels.

    What next?

We’d like to collect and collate residents’ experiences, and take both specific examples and any general pattern, and follow this up with TfL, councillors, London Assembly members, and anywhere else that anyone suggests.
