Help us to find the H13 buses that don’t show Ruislip Lido as their destination!

Can you help us to identify some rogue H13 buses?!

Recently some H13 bus services running from Northwood to Ruislip Lido have been showing their destination as either “Reservoir Road, Ruislip” or “Ruislip Common” instead of “Ruislip Lido“.

Visitors who arrive in Ruislip by train and then look for the H13 to Ruislip Lido so that they can visit our famous beaches and luxurious swimming facilities could easily be left feeling a bit lost when they see a buses heading only to Northwood St Vincents, Reservoir Road or Ruislip Common.

For local residents familiar with the area, seeing an H13 going towards Ruislip Lido but calling itself something else could be almost as confusing as the idea of visitors thinking it’d be a good idea take a swim when they get there!

We’ve been on buses where some or all of the destination blind on the front of the bus, the LED iBus display onboard the bus, and/or the automated audio announcements have described the bus’s destination as either Reservoir Road, Ruislip or Ruislip Common – only for the bus to be a “normal” H13 that terminates at Ruislip Lido as usual.

We asked Transport for London about the new announcements, and to ask if there was a reason for them. They replied, telling us:

“We understand that some recent announcements have referred to “Reservoir Road, Ruislip” and “Ruislip Common” instead of the familiar “Ruislip Lido.” We want to assure you that we have verified that the correct announcement for Ruislip Lido is currently in use, and any inconsistencies are being looked into.

If you happen to notice these alternate announcements again, we kindly ask that you provide us with the vehicle registration number. This information will greatly assist us in identifying whether the issue is occurring with a specific bus and enable us to address it promptly.”

Please help us to find them!

The most “gone rogue” H13 that we have seen so far was this bus, pretending to be an A10 (which should be running between Uxbridge and Heathrow Airport) – at the traffic lights in Ruislip Manor last October.

We’re sure that this was just a funny one-off accident, but the “Reservoir Road, Ruislip” and “Ruislip Common” buses are something quite different, and we’d be grateful for your help in identifying them so that we can report specific buses and examples to TfL.
