Ruislip is very lucky to have primary and secondary schools of a high standard. In support of this statement it was made public on Monday, April 15th. that following a full Ofsted Inspection on February 21st. & 22nd. Lady Bankes Primary School was given the status of Outstanding!
Mrs Kate Needs, the Headteacher, was able to share the good news with her staff and parents on the above day, much to their joy and relief ( Ofsted inspections are a stressful experience for all those involved). There was a much-deserved celebration after school on the Friday.
Much of the praise for the school’s success has to go to Mrs Needs who was appointed Headteacher in 2016. At that time the school was designated as Requires Improvement by Ofsted. In April 2017, following a Full inspection, it was graded as Good and now in 2024 it has finally achieved Outstanding. In the eight years she has been in post Mrs Needs has worked tirelessly to bring the school she loves to where it is today. However, this cannot be brought about by just one person. Most of the school’s staff have remained at the school during Mrs Needs’ tenure and have worked with her as part of a team of dedicated professionals who all deserve much praise which the parents recognise.
Some of the comments in the Ofsted report reflect how the school was currently assessed in the Report. These include: a school for everyone; warm and nurturing relationships between staff and pupils; pupils’ behaviour is exemplary and pupils thrive in the wide range of leadership opportunities, such as the Green Team which was mentioned recently on the RRA website and in the latest edition of the magazine the Town Crier.
Ruislip Residents’ Association send their sincere congratulations to the Headteacher and Staff and wish them continued success for the future.
