The popular community pub, The Woodman , Breakspear Road, Ruislip has recently added another award to its list, receiving recognition from the award-winning Stonegate Group for its “brilliant performance, amazing offerings and community involvement.”

Steve & The Team Receive Award
In just under a year, The Woodman was crowned Stonegate Pub of the Year and London and South East Divisional pub of the year in November 2022 at the internal Stars of Stonegate Awards; recently in September this year it won Stonegate pub of the year at the highly acclaimed Great British Pub Awards.
The awards and recognition come from the hard work carried out by Licensee Steve Banks and his pub team. Steve has been with The Woodman for eight years and has transformed the traditional pub, filled with character, into a bustling community hub.
Offering an extensive drinks range of real ales, beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic options, alongside some great midweek lunch dishes. In addition to the food and drink, the pub’s regular entertainment schedule keeps regulars and new faces entertained and having a good time. Steve does all he can to support individuals and has been able to create great relationships with regular customers. He and his team are committed to providing guests with excellent offers and experiences at the pub and consistently provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The local community is also the centre of everything The Woodman does and they continually find ways to support local charities and causes throughout the year. Recently The Woodman’s annual charity event ” The Woodfest All Dayer” in aid of the Michael Sobell Hospice was well supported by both regulars and new customers alike. The day saw a variety of entertainment including DJs and live singers who provided the soundtrack for the day and some great Street Foods from “Well Nice Fish & Chips”.
Customer Service here and at our sister pub,The Woodman in Joel Street, Pinner is paramount to the success of both pubs. We are committed to giving opportunities to expand and develop the teams’ skills and careers, including offering apprenticeships and further qualifications in hospitality.
