Hillingdon Council is consulting on changes to how residents pay for parking. If they go ahead, the Hillingdon First resident rate and the free half hour would no longer be available at a pay and display machine, even if you pay by card: only by phone, by app, or possibly in some shops. The Council is also considering removing pay and display machines, and asking every driver for their number plate. Read our article on the consultation.
This form sends your response to the Council’s parking consultation team, with a copy to you. It also sends a copy to your ward councillors (without your home address). Ruislip councillors have told residents that the consultation covers the principles for removing machines, so you can comment on that too.
The most useful responses describe real experience. Tell the Council where you park, how you pay, and how the changes would affect you or someone you know, and edit the suggested wording into your own words. Councillors have said that emails from a campaign may be ‘considered together’, so your own details matter.
