Ruislip Residents' Association

Current Applications

Hillingdon Council publishes details of all planning applications and we closely monitor all applications within our own area.  The list below refers only to the most significant of current appications.  Our strong team liaises with local residents on contentious issues and frequently submits objections to applications that cause our members concern.

The latest planning application submitted by Eastcote Hockey Club for the construction of an all-weather multi-purpose sports playing pitch was withdrawn in the face of fierce local opposition, on 25 March. The Friends of Pinn Meadows played a particularly active role in leading local protest. It is believed that the hockey club are minded having regard to the particular areas of public concern to submit an amended application at a later stage.

The Friends of Pinn Meadows have presented the Council with a petition requesting that Kings College Fields be given Village Green status which if successful would protect the Fields from any future development.

"A formal planning application has finally been lodged with regard to the external signage on the Post Office in Ruislip High Street, which was erected without planning permission.  This application seeks planning permission for the current signage to be left as it is.

Your Residents' Association and the local Chamber of Commerce will strongly oppose this application.  In our view the current signage is totally  inappropriate.  Its focus on commercial functions does not reflect the primary function of this business as the main Post Office in Ruislip.  Also, the size and style of the signage is incongruous within the Ruislip High Street conservation area."
