A contractor has been identified for the construction of the “water feature” in the beach area.   Council approval is expected next week, with completion still on target for the 25th July 2008.

Ruislip Lido – April 2008

The Council budget includes a sum of £155,000 for a “splash pool”. The Leader has requested that the pool be in place before the end of July 2008.   The timing is tight, but the necessary work has started.

Ruislip Lido – March 2008

Cllr. Mills has been advised that the RRA have agreed to support the idea of a “splash pool”.   This subject was up for funding at the Council budget meeting last week.

Ruislip Lido – January 2008

The further meeting of LMAG was held in January.   The Friends of Ruislip Lido gave a presentation on the proposed water play feature in the beach area.   The cost of this is expected to be more than £150,000.   Quotations are being obtained and sources of funds are being investigated.

Ruislip Lido – December 2007

The AGM of LMAG was held in October, including election of officers.   Proposals and funding options for a water play feature in the beach area are being progressed.

Not only are Cormorants (left) present, but Egyptian Geese have been seen recently.

Ruislip Lido Management Advisory Group (LMAG) Update June 2007
Now that the Management plan has been finalised, it has been possible to get down to more detailed matters.
New playground equipment has been installed, the beach café has reopened, alongside the Railway facilities, and a beach water play feature has been proposed. Although it is intended that the Lido water quality will be improved, this may take some time.
Litter collection and disposal and signage is being improved.

The LMAG AGM will be held at the boat house at the Lido at 7pm on Tuesday, 10th July.

Ruislip Lido Management Advisory Group (LMAG), January 2007
The modified draft five-year management plan was presented at the recent meeting in January.   The final plan is expected before the end of February.

A petition has been presented to the Council from the Friends of Ruislip Lido for the installation of a rain shelter in the beach area.   This was highlighted and it is proposed that a shelter be erected soon.   Playground equipment, the car park and the beach café were also discussed.   It is hoped that the café will be open for Easter.

We are fortunate to have one of our committee members, Peter Landsdown, sitting on the Ruislip Lido Management Advisory Group (LMAG).
