Bishops Ramsey Planning ApplicationThere are three planning applications which currently affect the school : Bishops Ramsey Lower School 19731/APP/2006/1442 Bishops Ramsey Upper School 19731/APP/2006/1436 Revised Planning Application, not yet on the LBH web site The current plans are to be reported on to our North Area Planning Committee meeting on 8th August at the Civic Centre. A number of local residents have contacted the Assocation expressing their concerns. Their objections to the proposal can be summarised (in their own words) as: Traffic Related
Overdevelopment 1) Is the Upper School site big enough for over 1200 pupils? It has only 1 games field and needs small parcels of land to be added. Is this because it is only just big enough? Will more of Warrender Park (public land) be ‘needed’ later on? 2) Ruislip is already crowded. First the Lime Grove development, then the Lower School Site put more traffic & people into the system. This puts additional pressure on the infrastructure. 3) Parking is already an issue at the Upper School site. Restricted parking spaces in the proposed Lower School site development will lead to secondary parking on Eastcote Rd – linking to 3) above. 4) Combine the overdevelopment & traffic and you make Ruislip a less safe place to live. 5) How does the local community gain from the development? More people using the same infrastructure? 50% or more of the school population are non-local and therefore part of the traffic problem? No more sports facilities – if anything slightly less green spaces? If you have any views on the above please let us know see Feedback |
