High Speed Rail (HS2)

Graham Bartram  / Phil Taylor

HS2 construction is gathering pace. As of July 2018 a lot of preparation work has already been undertaken; including ground investigations and the start of diverting two main gas mains at Harvil road.

There has been a delay in the proposed start of the main construction activities, from 1 March 2019 to 1 June 2019, although HS2 claim there won’t actually be any delay in starting work here. Based on the early works so far, we can expect enormous disruption in the area.

Many meetings are happening between HS2 Ltd and representatives of local residents, but HS2 are not very responsive to the feedback and concerns that are presented to them.

We expect more news and details on public meetings later this year in the near future.
